Artists Basics:
Artists use an Easel and Canvas to create 1x1 Mapart. Right click while holding an easel to place it, the right click on the easel while holding canvas to attach the canvas. After canvas is attached right click canvas to begin painting. Canvas can be painted with dyes. Left click the canvas while holding dye to place one point, right click and drag to draw a line. To switch colors, switch what dye you are holding in your inventory. To finish a painting, right click the canvas with a paintbrush and set title of your work.
Use command "/art" for more details and recipes:
Recipe for canvas uses an empty map in the center.
Dyes:
Different colored dyes are made up of the object listed in the dye menu. For example nether wart can be used on a canvas to paint with maroon.
Making copies:
Mapart can be copied by placing 1 artwork with 1 empty map in a crafting table.
Painting tools:
For more advanced artists, there are tools that can edit your painting. Use /art to see tools available and directions on how to use them. A bucket for example can be used to fill the canvas with the dye in your offhand.
After passing the exam make sure to use /kit artist for items to help you get started!!
**note: You cannot lock easels so make sure if you are working on a piece to keep it in your inventory when you are away or other artists can draw on it
