Redstone elevators typically cause lag, either client side or server side. I honestly think players would buy regular plugin elevators due to these reasons: Cheaper, less effort in creating them (faster), not laggy, and less materials to make one.
The idea sounds good at first, but when you look deeper into it, it doesn't sound too profitable seeing as the server has an elevator plugin.
