It would improve the server as it would add more player customization and fashion/design choices to the server, making it an overall more fun experience, as well as possibly starting a new fashion industry. As long as the hats and cosmetics are kept affordable and don't become methods of gambling such as other games, hats and cosmetics would be a fine addition to the game.

Please don't make hats and cosmetics into a cash cow gambling machine, leave it as a completely optional thing for players to have if they want to wear hats and don't milk it for all it's worth selling hats for hundreds of real-world dollars.
