Department of Economy

Department Progress

  • MCMMO was rolled out successfully under Former Minister _Info_'s management. Brewers, Engineers, Farmers, Hunters, and Lumberjacks now have access to job-specific skills as they rank up in experience.
  • Guns were also rolled out successfully under Former Minister _Info_'s management. Several calibrations have been made over the last few weeks to damage and durability.
  • The Writer role on Discord was formally sunset. Anyone with the Politics role now has viewing permissions to #cabinet-voting and #cabinet-meeting. Discussions about removing the in-game qualification altogether have been entertained, but it's not a priority at this time.
  • Themed decorative heads were added to the government shop. June had a kitchen theme with a rainbow cake, knife block, Cheerios, cup of tea, and a microwave.
Upcoming Projects
  • Extensive progress on the new Miner job has been made. The exam and guide is slated to be added in-game within the coming days. Drills will be available to Miners for purchase from the government shop. (They will also only be operable by Miners.) Miners will also have access to the /autosmelt command, which toggles dropping ingots in lieu of ore blocks. Quarries for Miner use will be implemented later this month. Mayors are currently in a DoCR competition to find a spot and design a quarry.
  • Since the absence of ESL, the department has been brainstorming how to revive university jobs. We've decided on an approach that Hunters have long enjoyed: automatic micropayments for job activities. The proposal is currently being finalized and will be presented to Cabinet early in July. If approved, the implementation should be quick because Hybrid already coded the custom plugin.
  • A proposal is in the works to implement a banking plugin. This would enable players to have a savings account that earns interest in addition to their legacy balance. It would also open roleplay opportunities for physical banks and ATMs around the server. It also means banknotes will likely be discontinued since Koal has wanted that forever and with a second balance and /offlinepay there's really no practical use for them.
  • Chef recipes have been broken for way too long. Getting that sorted will be a priority after Miner and micropayments are implemented.
  • The Companies plugin has also been broken for way too long. Getting that sorted will also be a priority after those projects.
  • New decorative heads will be available in the first week of July. This month's theme is magic: an enchantment book, dragon eye, cauldron, lantern, and crystal ball.
