Phantoms in Minecraft are flying hostile mobs that spawn when a player has not slept for three or more in-game days. Most of the community in this game feel that they are a nuisance. Here are some reasons why server administrators should consider disabling them:

1. Interrupted Gameplay: Phantoms can disrupt gameplay, especially for players who like to work at night or who are exploring. Their swooping attacks can push players off structures or into other hazards. If a player builds huge skyscrapers (which this server is known for) phantoms are literally a fun killer. If you want to farm in your wild farms, or do any exploring - you can't during night.
2. Sleep Manipulation: We could never make players agree to sleep every night to avoid phantoms, which means that you are manipulated into hiding from phantoms for 12 minutes every 12 minutes (every night cycle)
3. Performance Issues: Large numbers of phantoms could potentially lead to server lag or other performance issues.
4. Unwanted Challenge: As this is business related - city server, phantom as a mob is of no use.
5. Community Feedback: As this is a poll, players can express their opinion on the matter . If a majority of players on a server express their dislike for phantoms, it might be in the server's best interest to disable them.

Tamed cats have a 70% chance to bring the player a gift when they wake up from a bed, and the gift has a 3.22% chance to be a phantom membrane.

lol, maybe a gov shop with cheap membranes for the people who really want it (even tho mending at least 5000x better)

The point of my reply was - who needs them, can get them that way. Or as zee said, gov can have these and sell them. Mending is always better, anyhow. Honestly, there is no point in keeping the worst mob in the game enabled.

TBH i see Pavel's POV .. the thing is u cant sleep when so many players r on and its impossible to convince all to sleep .. thus phantoms are guaranteed to go away (i think)

if u sleep on ur own for like 5 sec they stop

Ye but if 2+ players are in the wild you cannot sleep unless they tp out of leave the server

we're not talking about sleeping through the night - just sleeping in general. you can lay down on a bed for 5 seconds and phantoms will stop spawning.

oh - cuz i watched a video by Matpat that well he explained why it couldnt be classified as insomnia but a theory is just a theory

Thank you for your suggestion however we will not be implementing it at this time as you are able to remove this effect by either dying or sleeping in a bed however briefly
