- Why do you think you are suited to the position you are applying for?
As an individual, I am very well suited for the SE role because I have real-world experience in economics and business. I have a BS in Marketing and have worked for global corporations, small startups, and even started two businesses of my own as a freelancer. I have real experience in entrepreneurship which gives me an edge in understanding how to improve and communicate DoE policies and initiatives.
As a player, I started a notable business which demonstrates my ability to understand how to be a business owner in-game as well. I'm actively involved in the economy discussion channel and keep my ear to the ground of what players want and need.
- Why do you want to work in the position you are applying for?
I have great relationships with other business owners, regularly lending out my advice and knowledge to help their businesses succeed. In those relationships, I've grown to understand the business landscape of BC. Working for the DoE is an excellent opportunity to understand the inner machinations of the department and contribute to improving policies so they benefit everyone. I believe relationship building and communication are two of my greatest strengths, and I would love to be able to have a direct impact on making the server a more enjoyable experience for everyone. I've started this on my own as a player by building a marketplace specifically for underserved job industries and founding a Discord server dedicated to employment and job reviews. From within the DoE, I believe I can help enact real progress and maintain a positive relationship between the department and the player base.
