Hello, players of BusinessCraft. Starting in July of 2020 I began working on a rule change with the other administrators and moderators because many rules were misunderstood, too harsh, not harsh enough, not clear enough and some just did not exist when they should have existed. We had hosted a full day of going over rule changes with all the staff of July 2020 and solidified a ton of good changes for the server. Everyone was very helpful. Big shoutout to the July 2020 staff team Koalition, Luxaholic, HybridPlague, katt_tail, bharatj, Kairuchii, DemonLobster, SlimeEmperor, puppy_lover153, jocie123, Codes320, Windows_dog, bbnohoney, and Tree60NoScope, they all helped modify the document leaving notes, and came to the full day of meetings to make sure everyone got a chance to have their input. Modifying the rule thread took a lot more time than expected, there were a lot of problems with our old rules and layout of the thread, but it was worth it to make sure we didn't cut any corners and could provide better rules to all of you. - Server Rules and Laws have their own category instead of being in Government Announcements.
- Rules and Laws are now separated on the same thread for easier access and distinction.
- ALL rules now have definitions added to them so there is less confusion.
- Some rules have varying numbers of warning points. (ie. First Offence: Warning (1 point), Second Offence: Warning (2 points)
- ALL jail punishments that were previously in the rules punishments were removed.
Account/Chat Rules
- Having an inappropriate name now has a punishment.
- Having a similar name now has a punishment
- The following in orange has been changed
- Confirmed alt accounts will result in a permanent ban for those alt accounts;
- Transferring money from an alt account will result in a fine of the amount transferred.
- Second offence of using alt accounts will result in an IP ban.
- Logging onto a players account now has a punishment.
- "We reserve the right to ban you in case we believe your skin is inappropriate;" (orange words were added)
- Evading punishments is not allowed and may result in a ban, for example, it is considered evading punishment when you join on alternate accounts after being banned on another; (orange words were added)
- Badlion is now an acceptable client mod next to optifine.
- Added: "All chat rules apply in game chat, on discord, in businesscraft discords (approved services as well), signs, books, etc."
- Added: "If multiple chat offences are done in one event then punishments can be compounded (added together)"
- Disrespectful immature behavior now has a punishment.
- Discussion of real life politics/controversial topics now has a punishment.
- Racism and Bigotry has a modified punishment.
- (Harsher) Second Offense is now 1 week ban instead of 2, added a third offence which is just a permanent ban.
- Physical harassment has been removed as a rule.
- Verbal Harassment has a modifed punishment.
- Warning points have changed.
- Sexual Harassment has a modified punishment.
- (Harsher) Added bans to all offences, increased fine, and increased warning points.
- Offensive/excessive profanity has a modified punishment.
- (Slightly Harsher) Added warning points, changed mutes for the first 3 offences, added bans for the last 2 offences.
- Spamming/begging has become it's own rule with it's own punishment. (Used to be the same as the profanity rule)
- (Less Harsh) Added 2 offences, and reduced the first 3 offences punishments.
- All three advertising rules have modified punishments and added distinctions.
- General Advertising changed to a permanent ban.
- Mentioning discord servers changed to be less harsh for the first three offences, added a fourth offence permanent ban.
- Mentioning server names - only the first warning point was changed
- "Asking an exam question or knowingly giving an exam answer is not allowed" (the orange word was added)
- Foreign language in global chat has a modified punishment
- (Less Harsh) Warning points, mutes, and bans were reduced.
- Added rule and punishment for "Vulgar builds"
- (the orange words were added) "Any sort of griefing in cities/towns/wild regions is not allowed, this includes (but is not limited to):
- Picking up dropped items of players without their consent;
- Destroying or modifying other player’s property;
- Destroying the highway or roads
- Using items such as TNT, flint and steel, lava etc. on player property;"
- TNT, flint and steel, lava, etc. on player property, has a modified punishment.
- Was previously just a rule against TNT but has expanded to include more items and is harsher in some offences.
- Unlawfully locking doors and other lockable items has a modified punishment.
- (Less Harsh) Removed ban punishments, increased fines, and added warning points
- Stealing has a modified punishment.
- Has increased fines, changed third offence ban from 3 weeks to 2 weeks.
- Building Modifications has a modifed punishment.
- Added warning points, changed stage C to a 2 week ban
- "In the event of a player being banned, their rightfully claimed property (or any property that they are landlord of), which includes but is not limited to, owned plots, buildings, and items may be repossessed by the Government if such is deemed necessary;" (the orange words were added)
- All regions cannot be more than 20 points
- Meaning you cannot have abstract regions, if a moderator cannot do it then the area will need to be adjusted to fit into 20 points
- All of this was added under toxic player rule:
- Staff Discretion: Staff reserve the right to punish you accordingly if you are behaving in a toxic manner. If you come onto the server to troll, misbehave and clearly not actually play the game staff does not have to follow the order of punishments. Potential punishments are kicks, permanent mute, and permanent ban.
- In case you exceed the amount of offences in any listed punishment, staff has the ability to punish you under staff discretion as well.
- Threatening the server now has a punishment.
- Threatening players/staff now has a punishment.
- Doxxing players now has a punishment.
- Ticket abuse has a modifed punishment
- (Less Harsh) less time on ban punishments.
- Killing Staff on a ticket has a modified punishment.
- Changed warning points, fines, and bans, and added (+DoJ punishment if it's in the city)
- Exploitation of bugs has a modified punishment.
- (Harsher) Increased fine, increased warning points
- AFK kick avoiding rule has a separate punishment from Automatic farms rule.
- Punishment stayed the same just no jail time
- Automatic farms has a separate punishment from AFK kick avoiding rule.

- Added IRL Scamming rule and punishment.
